    Hello All

    in windows xp by default they was administrative shares \\computer\c$ . does Windows 7 have this function?

      They are enabled on my x64 Ultimate build -- admittedly I had shared something else, but definitely did not do the registry hack in the article above

      Note this is in a domain environment

        It's different for domain computers

        A user who has a domain user account logs on remotely to a Windows Vista computer. And, the domain user is a member of the Administrators group. In this case, the domain user will run with a full administrator access token on the remote computer, and UAC will not be in effect.

        Although this article talks about Vista it should also apply to Win7. Ah forgot to mention, from the security view point it may not be very wise to edit or add that reg key.
