  • New Hard Disk with Win2000Pro- "New PCI device found"

I recently replaced my old 30 Gbyte disk with a new 60 Gbyte disk on the T23 IBM(Sorry LENOVO) laptop.
After I installed all the Win2000 professional with all the 4 Service packs and all updates whenever I reboot my machine I am getting " New PCI device found" message and the device is trying to install itself. The new device is shown with a big yellow question mark and evemtually if I let it go through it is not successfull in finding the driver.
I always have to do "cancel", since it is not specific on what PCI device is related.

I upgraded all drivers, including BIOS, from the LENOVO site. Nothing helps.
Another disturbing phenomena which might be related is that the battery light is blinking and is yellow!!!
I also heard that INTEL changed the chip identification codes in 2002. Can there be a conection?

    Any suggestions??

Is it a Intel chipset? If so I rekon you should install the chipset drivers if you haven't done that already.
