  • Office2k install screen showing up when logged into the DC

i installed office 2000 on a client machine locally, and when i have the client machine which is running win2k pro, log onto the domain(win2k3 server), and i open up an office app on the client machine ie: MS word, the pre install screen pops up ie"preparing to install office 2k", "gathering information" screens like that, but then when i hit cancel, the applicaiton loads.

Why does it do this? and how do you fix this problem?

      Tried placing the CD

yes, i have tried putting the cd in the drive on the local computer, but i get this error

"Error 1706. No Valid Source could be found for the product MS Office 2000 SR-1 Professional. The windows installer could not continue."

then i hit ok and it just loops to the same message, but when i hit cancel on the preparing to install MS word loads fine. did i configure something on the domain improperly or am i missing a something here?

      thanks
