  • tasklist and netsh commands

I have a strange issue with tasklist and netsh commands on window xp sp2

now computers on the windows 2000 domain,

running windows xp sp2 logged in as local administrator to the machine, cannot run tasklist or netsh fully.

    when running tasklist i get:

ERROR: Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password.

    when i run netsh:

WARNING: Could not obtain host information from machine: [DCPC60801]. Some comma
    nds may not be available.
    Access is denied.

i do not get whats going on! its so strange, that even as local administrator i cannot do this?

even if i log onto the machines as a domain administrator I cannot run those command.

strange enough, my laptop which is ON the domain can do this. I don't know whats going on and this is baffling me. I have the same gpo applied to my machine as like everyone else.

please some one help. This problem is on all 100 machines, that were cloned from the same master image and the image was run with sysprep.

      Re: tasklist and netsh commands

Thanks for the links, but unfortunately it did not help.
I tried to track any errors in the event log, but I couldn't get any thing.

the only ones that seem out of place are:

      event 1090

Windows couldn't log the RSoP (Resultant Set of Policies) session status. An attempt to connect to WMI failed. No more RSoP logging will be done for this application of policy.

      and

      event 10010

The server {8BC3F05E-D86B-11D0-A075-00C04FB68820} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.

now i couldn't connect to the wmi control, it says win32 access denied under local administrator - which is wierd. The WMI service is running.

i'm not sure if thats the root of the problem or not.

        Re: tasklist and netsh commands

ok seem to have this fix.

        the problem? WMI SERVICE!!!

for some reason it was hung and even thuogh it said it started it did not work.

so i rebooted the machines, and voila worked.

why all of them had the service failure, i do not know.

        thanks for the help dumber
