  • disable command prompt on explorer's right click menu

actually i have add an option of "commmand prompt" in explorer right click.it is set on top the list. now when i try to open any folder, it open command prompt now, but i simply want to open that one. i want to remove the command prompt option on right click. OR want to set open option by default. how can i do it. i have try to remove it from where i had added it, but remove option is disable.
Note i have added this option via this one.

    ----------
Method #3: Manually add the context menu
In explorer, open Tools, Folder Options.

    Select the File Types tab.

For Windows XP: Go to NONE / Folder.

For Windows 2000: Press n to scroll to the N/A section.

For Windows NT/98/95: Press f to scroll to the Folders section.

    Select the entry labeled Folder

For Windows 2000/XP: Press Advanced button.

For Windows NT/98/95: Press Edit button.

    Select New

In the action block type "Command Prompt" without the quotes.

In the app block type "cmd.exe" without the quotes.

    Save and exit Folder Options.

Now right click on Start, you should have a new drop down option. Open explorer and right click on a folder, select Command Prompt and a command window opens in that folder.

    how can i remove it?

See this link to disable / delete the cmd prompt context menu (when you cant remove it using the normal method above):

          http://windowsxp.mvps.org/slowrightclick.htm

In summary, look in the registry under the following and delete the keys you dont need:

          Registry Key Description

          HKCR \*\shellex\contextmenuhandlers Files
HKCR\AllFileSystemObjects\shellex\ contextmenuhandlers Files and file folders
          HKCR\Folder\shellex\contextmenuhandlers Folders
          HKCR\Directory\shellex\contextmenuhandlers File Folders
          HKCR\<ProgID>\shellex\contextmenuhandlers File class
          HKCR\Directory\Background\shellex\ContextMenuHandl ers Desktop

Re: disable command prompt on explorer's right click menu

generally this menu is in HKCR\Folder\shell sub menu and HKCR\Directory\shell sub menu

check sub keys and if you find cmd path in subkeys delete that key
            and check
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell key right panel of key must be set none
