  • Calling shared folders in xp

    Hi,

I want to set password for xp machines when one xp machine calls another machine for their shared folders. Some XP computers are asking for password while some other's are not.

    Regards,

Moved to XP forum for better response.

Is this in a domain or a workgroup?

Remove all user accounts except the account that is needed for logging in to the system.

It sounds to me that the account/password that is used to logon to the XP system is intermittently present on other XP PCs, hence, some will automatically connect and others will password prompt. When they get password prompted, can they then access the share using the same credentials they are logged on with?
