  • XP Home Admin without Admin rights?

A friend of mine is set-up as Admin on her home system. If she goes to the windows up-date site, it tells her that she must log on as Admin and return to the site. Also when she wants to install a program it tells her she does not have the rights. I run win XP Pro and find I have considerably more options, such as snap-ins that will not work on the home ver. Thanks

Are you sure your friend is being logged on as Administrator? If another user had been created then it may be defaulting to the new user. I have seen a User added to the Administrators groups being denied permission to update. Try getting them to Log Off and then log back on as Administrator. See if that makes a difference.

Some differences between XP Home and XP Pro. http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase...p_home_pro.asp
    Differences in table form. http://asia.cnet.com/itmanager/tech/...9039863,00.htm
    1 1 was a racehorse.
    2 2 was 1 2.
    1 1 1 1 race 1 day,
    2 2 1 1 2
