  • Network printer problem on one computer

i have a domain with a network printer with a static ip address

one of the computers (running WinXP) is not able to send print jobs now, it worked fine till today

All the rest of the computers are still able to print to this printer

I tried to reinstall the printer - didn't work

I tried to reinstall the driver - didn't work

so i checked to see if the networking is ok and i found out that i'm getting no response when i PING the printer IP address

I tried PING to other computer on the LAN and i did got response, even when i PING to external internet websites

I disabled the firewall and anti-virus and the problem still presents

    any suggestions?

Is the printer shared via a server, or do all clients try accessing it directly via IP address?
    What make/model is it?

      Directly via IP
      no server involved

Does the printer respond to pings from "good" computers? (probably not...)
Can you think of anything that changed recently -- updates?

Does the printer have a MAC or IP block list?

          nope
it doesn't have a ip mac block list, as i said before the computer used to work with that printer before.

Time to try ye olden TCP/IP stack reset.

            Code:
            netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt
Sometimes the TCP/IP stack gets all cocked up and needs a good beating.

Do you have any other printers working on this machine? Thinking Print Spooler issue.
