  • Remote printer install

I'm trying to fathom the print command so I can remote install a printer from my PC for another domain PC, where the IP port is configured via a print server.

Normally I'd use this command from the users PC

    rundll32 printui.dll,PrintUIEntry /in /q /n\\printers\HPLJ5000D

Where 'printers' is the print server and HPLJ5000D the queue

    RUNDLL32 PRINTUI.DLL,PrintUIEntry /if /b"HPLJ5000D" /c\\10.0.0.232 /in /q /n\\printers\HPLJ5000D

    Any idea?

      Re: Remote printer install

It's asking me to install a driver which suggests it's trying to do it locally.

I've found a program that will do it for me, problem is we have an additional DNS name for the print server and the program sees that, rather than allowing me to choose.
