  • XP Service Pack 2 reboot problems

I downloaded and installed the update Service Pack 2 for XP Home and the PC now hangs during reboot. I can reboot in safe mode but have been unable to fix the boot problem. Any suggestions?

Verity that you have update drivers on the machine.
Also, try to disable the antivirus and go to -> control panel -> system -> Advanced -> Startup and Recovery -> settings -> disable reboot on computer problem.
You can also find some useful error messages under the event log.

      Hi there,

First of all you can uninstall Service pack 2, follow this article:

      http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;875350

      Work with the recovery console.

Regarding why it is not booting, tell us when exacly it hangs?
