  • XP Mirroring not enabled by default

I was in pthe process of setting up an new XP pro machine with mirroring enabled on the c:\ drive, but guess what.....

Mirroring is not enabled by default on XP pro..

Below is a link on how to enable it

    http://www.vttoth.com/mirror.htm

Thought it might be usefull for a few people.

Does anyone else think it's stupid not to enable it by default or is there a reason?

Re: XP Mirroring not enabled by default

I have mirroring enabled on the XP machine and it has mirrored successfully and the disk state is healthy.

When I tried to simulate a faulty disk by removing the power and replacing the faulty disk with the mirrored disk as per instructions:

    http://www.netadmintools.com/art442.html

I get a disk error failure even though the mirrored disk is now primary master.

Has anyone else every set this up with windows xp, 2000 or 2003 and got it working?

    Thanks you
