  • Clicking on a URL opens C:\ drive on Windows Explorer ?

I have developed a strange fault recently . Whenever I click on a URL link I am transferred to the C: drive page in Windows Explorer instead of navigating to the URL page in Internet explorer .

Can anyone suggest a cure for this, please ?

Please give details about your environment when posting questions.

OS version? Edition? Architecture? Service pack level? Is it fully up to date?

    IE version?

AV and any other security software?

    Event logs?

How long has this been happening and what changed?

Is this a single PC? If in a domain, does the problem follow your user account to other PCs? Does the problem occur for other users on this PC?

What have you tried so far?

People are happy to help on here as long as you meet us half way - we don't like having to play guessing games.
