  • Can browse share but can't double click mapped drive! Access Denied!

We have a site-to-site VPN to a remote server.

Our machines have mapped drives going to \\servername\share\share\share with the correct credentials on the remote server.

On an XP machine you can browse the above share through start>>run and by clicking the Folders tab but if you double click the mapped drive in My Computer or right click and Open/Explore you get an 'Access Denied' error message.

I have mapped this share on a Server 2003 machine and a Windows 7 machine and they can access it as normal.

The problem lies somewhere with Windows XP, I have tried this on a fresh install and the same applies!

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks

Curious why it is \\servername\share\share\share instead of just \\servername\share

Check the security settings for the VPN connection. This is a setting I use without any problems (touch wood) yet.
