    Re: Crypted folder problem

So are you trying to access the encrypted files as the same user account that you used to encrypt them?

Please can you let us know what OS and version you're running, what you've tried and any details that may be relevant. Is this a standalone machine or is it joined to a domain?

      Re: Crypted folder problem

If it is stand alone, have you reset your account password (if you have not, DO NOT DO IT)?

Basically, unless it is a domain and a recovery agent is configured, you are highly likely to have lost everything

I take it we are talking about EFS encryption. If it's an attribute set encryption you can try and move the folder to a FAT volume (FAT formated usb drive) and it should hopefully lose the encryption attribute.
