  • Offline Files issue

I have had an ongoing problem with Offline files for a particular user. I make their 'N' drive available offline. The N drive is a share on a SBS 2003 server. The settings are set to their default settings and the share allows all files to be made available offline.

Initially, when logging off their XP machine, errors appeared regarding PST files not being able to be made available offline. This is their archived emails. I removed those from being made available offline, so logging off just allows the synchronisation to complete without errors.

If the user edits, creates, modifies a file whilst using their laptop offline and then connects it to the network and logs on, instead of just automatically synching a balloon appears near the system time. It lists the name of the network with a tick box and gives you the option of not synching. If you choose that option, you loose the offline file. However, if you click the Ok. The synch works without an issue. This extra step of clicking Ok never happened before. There is an exclamation mark as well.

I have removed the Offline files feature from the share, rebooted the laptop and then recreated it but the same then happens.

    Any ideas? Thanks.
