  • XP CD recordinf feature

Can some1 explain me how the XP CD recording feature actually works?
I am having a lot of problems trying to use it.
For example, if I don't insert a CDRW at startup, it won't let me erase it nor recognise it as a writeable media. I have to put the CDRW in the tray, then reboot, so that XP can mount the file system on the CDRW. weird!!!

AFAIK there is a CD writing patch on the Microsoft site which might fix your problem.

I tend to disable the Windows CD writing and use Nero/InCD myself -- its a product I know and, while it has limitations, it does what I want, not what Microsoft wants
