  • Dialup with three or more DNS servers

Is there a way to hack the registry or something that would allow me to configure RAS/Dial-up Networking to use more than two DNS servers, in Windows 2000?

And, if so could it also be done in group policy?

You should be able to add more DNS servers in the advanced tab within the dial-up properties.

Quick question - why would you want to set up more than 2 DNS servers?

        Advanced tab

In the Advanced tab it only allows two DNS for dialup.

We have Two internal DNS servers in our dept and another Two in another dept. Our departments dont get along too well so the DNS servers dont talk to each other. Then we'd like to also have an outside DNS server so we'd like to point to at least Four or Five servers in the DNS for our roaming (laptop) users.

I can use Net Shell (netsh) to add them but it seems they dont get released once they log off.
