  • Command line for opening sahred folders

    Hi, can i open shared folders and files using command line and it must require me to input my username and password. thanks in advance

    Do you mean you want to create a shared folder from the command line? OR
    - If so have a look at "net share" from a command prompt

    Do you want to browse/map a shared folder from the command line?
    - If so look at "net use" from a command prompt.

      I just want to check the fshared folders and check the files inside. does it ask me for a user name and password?

        I take it you mean for a remote computer.
        If so you can use: mmc fsmgmt.msc "computer:computername"
        you could also include the runas command if admin priviledges are required in the target computer: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l...72(WS.10).aspx

          It will ask for a username and password IF you don't have the correct permissions for the folder.

          Is this a domain or workgroup environment???
