  • add static route - same gateway, different IP

I am trying to add a static route to get to 1.2.3.4 (for example)
I have a single interface on windows xp sp3, the interface has a single gateway but 2 IP addresses
I would like to add a static route for 1.2.3.4 to use the 2nd IP, while all other traffic can remain routed through the default IP. I see from http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l...23(WS.10).aspx that another route may be added if another gateway exists. However, this is not the case. I need communication to 1.2.3.4 to be routed from the 2nd IP
Thank You for any help. I have been searching for a while how to accomplish this with no luck

Would DD-WRT suffice for a router?
If so, how would I do this?

What would be the smallest, least resource intensive linux distro I could use to do this?

have you tried "route add 1.2.3.0 mask 255.255.255.0 <ip of gateway>"??

I'm having trouble following exactly what it is you are trying to do with the example IPs you've given.
