  • Old programs in new user profile

I recently repaired my windows xp pro ( reinstalled the windows)after some boot issues I had on my computer. I am on a windows domain environment w2K3.

The question I have is how can I register my programs from my old profile. I am showing the programs on the c: drive but cant copy them to my new profile. I have tried copying them via the control panel : but getting an error.

I am getting an error saying one of my programs exetension is too long. So what I did is I removed the prgram from the profile I am copying from but styill the error comes back .

The profile I am currrently running reads c:\documents and settings\user.000 and the old one is c:\documents and settings\user

    Any suggestions would be helpful??

There is nothing so useless as doing efficiently that which should not be done at all.
