  • Restrict the user for installation.

    I am using windows xp pro as a stand alone computer.Some times other people come & use my computer.I want to know that how can i restrict the user that she should not install any software in my absence.

    Make sure their account is not a member of Administrators or Power Users groups
    ANd put a complex password on your account

      Ctrl + Alt + Del then press K when you leave your computer.

      Also as Tom said use a secure password.
