  • Active Desktop Question?

    Op Sys = XP Pro

    I like to have an animated weather radar gif on my desktop

    http://sirocco.accuweather.com/nx_mo...inmasirnd_.gif

    which I have to manually refresh (right click/Refresh on Desktop) to see current changes

    Q: Is there a way to make this auto refresh --- say every 5 minutes or so

    Thanks for the Help

    Here's a simple way to do it.

    Create an html file in c:\, call it bg.htm

    Add the following to it...

    Code:
    <head>
    <META HTTP-EQUIV="Refresh" CONTENT="300; URL=C:\bg.htm">
    </head>
    <body bgcolor="black">
    <div align="right"><img src="http://sirocco.accuweather.com/nx_mosaic_640x480c/sir/inmasirnd_.gif"></div>
    </body>
    Set your background to the new file (C:\bg.htm). It will refresh every 300 seconds (5min).

    Its cheesy but works.

              Remove it from your desktop and click on the web link only when you need to actually look at it.
