  • User Cannot Safely remove Usb Device

    Hi,

Im having aproblem with one of our user here. She uses a laptop and and logs in to the domain. The problem is when she plug any usb device and try to remove is safely there is a restriction message pops up. Saying something like this process cannot continue...contact your systems administrator. But with all other users who uses laptop and logs in to the domain there is no problem removing usb devices. I have no problems with GPO domain wide and locally because we use default gpo's and others are not getting the problem. I hope someone can help me..TIA

Try using a new profile for the user and see if the problem persists.
        Try a different machine.

Is it that the user cannot open the "safely remove.." window at all? Or does the message apear after selecting the USB drive in the window?

          Try this command: RunDll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL hotplug.dll
Does running this dll raise the same message?

When the user left-click just once on the icon, then left-click just once on the device, is she able to 'stop' the hardware this way?

Sir Rem this is what she can do. She can Plug in usb devices, use the device.but when she right click on the usb device icon in the lower right corner Safely remove hardware pops up but when she clicks it (Safely remove hardware) thats the time where the restriction message comes out.SO i guess its she cannot open safely remove hardware at all. haven't tried the command yet.i'll try it later just came back from week end. Thanks Guys.. update you later..

No progress sir. The hotplug icon is not missing its just when we do a right click in it and click the safely remove icon the Restriction notice pops out..
