  • Can't access "Local Users & Groups"- The error was: Invalid syntax

I can't find a solution to this issue. LU&G has a red X and text which states:

Unable to access the computer <name>. The error was: Invalid syntax

All other options in the Computer Manager MMC are OK. This is on a WindowsXP Pro SP2 work notebook in an AD environment. There are NO restrictions in AD as all the other workstations are OK.

No events are logged in Event Viewer. I think it *might* be a registry permissions property but I am unsure as to where to look. Thanks

Already tried around 40 googled sites but still with no fix. Does anyone know which files can be replaced to fix this issue?
