  • remotely change user to local admin, but...

hey, i need to remotely change a user to local admin on her laptop. but, via policy, computer management is locked out and i've disabled the 'user accounts' icon in control panel. i can figger out how to get to her pc, but i can't figger out how to get to the resources i need.

anyone got my back on this one?

Do you have access to the Run box? If so, type: 'control userpasswords2' in to it without the '.

Another way, if permitted, right click on My Computer and left click Manage. Local Users and Groups appears there.

Another way is to use a GPO to set local Groups but more time consuming.

Or to set a policy to disable the policy temporarily by creating a GPO lower down that will remove your restriction.

man, i googled the hell out of "windows command line user accounts" but could not come up with "control userpasswords2." i could not remember the exact command line and that is, in fact, what i was looking for.

      thx a mil!
