try using erd commander 2005 from winternals http://winternals.com/products/repai...02.asp?pid=erd this program has a build in utility which called "lock smith" that connect to the sam database of the winxp and reset the password. remember that if the user has encripted files by using efs and he don't has an access to the private key to decrypt the files he may not be able to gain access to his files

        good luck
