  • Power Options for Users

    Hello,

how can i set that a normal user without giving him administrator rights can edit, change or modify the power options on windows xp pro?

    Hi mate,

As far as I am aware it's just reg key permissions you would need to set

    HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Controls
    Folder\PowerCfg

Standard User accounts do not have access to add\delete\edit this key, but Power Users etc do.

You can change this by running regedt32 and granting users the same rights as Power Users on the following 2 subkeys, GlobalPowerPolicy & PowerPolicies.

    Hope this helps
