  • Spyware removal program.

    Hello.
What's the most recommended spyware removal program that you use?
I used in the past spybot, ad-aware and xoftspy.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

I use SpyBot S&D as well as "Hijack This". Also, the inimitable Biggles77 recommended a program called "MalwareBytes" in a past thread which seems to me to be quite useful. There's also a program called Spyware Blaster that prevents malware from being installed in the first place. I"m not sure if it's still being updated.

It should be noted that AdAware's free antimalware offering has a EULA that does not allow it to be used in a business environment. A fact that I was not aware of until after it had been installed across quite a number of computers at one of my workplaces.

There's also an on-demand scanner which has a huge database of spyware signatures. The program is A-Squared Free http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/free/

Our corporation uses CounterSpy and SuperAntiSpyware, satisfied with both.
