  • How can I quickly encrypt files by right clicking them?

    I followed up the advice in the forum here:

    http://www.petri.com/quickly_encrypt...cking_them.htm

    So my registry entry is:
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Explorer\Advanced]
    "EncryptionContextMenu"=dword:00000001

    But I still cant get the Encrypt in the right click menu when I click on a file.
    Am I doing something wrong? I have Win2000pro. Encryption otherwise works from the file properties window.

    Thanks guys. Your site rocks.

    Did you reboot after performing the change? You should, although I'm not sure if it's mandatory.

    Also, sorry for asking, but is the partition formatted with NFTS?

      Hi,
      thanks for help. I didn't reboot, that was the cause. Now it runs.
      Sorry to bother with such stupid problem. I remember when I run Windows 98, I had to reboot the computer 8 times a day.
