    Hi everyone.

    Is there any way I can create a password for opening a certain folder on an xp pro sp2 ?

    You can limit access to a folder by using NTFS permissions. It will simply state that the user doesn't have access to the resource - no prompt locally. Networked users will receive a prompt.

      Is there any way to do it locally ?
      or the only solution is to create another user on the same machine ?

          Without Admin rights of course... they can just take ownership of the folder and change the permissions.

                Without admin rights and without the possibility to boot from a CD or floppy or anything, or else you leave the door to your pornogra- ehm to your educational material wide open to http://www.petri.com/forgot_administrator_password.htm .

                If you really want to keep people away from that folder, get a 3rd party encryption tool. There are lots of free encryption apps out there.
