  • Can a Workgroup Comp see a Domain Comp's Dir?

Looking to see if anyone knows of the possibility to give an XP Home computer on a workgroup the ability to see/manipulate files on an XP Pro computer that is part of a domain?

    I.e...

Computer A - XP Home unit within a workgroup
Computer B - XP Pro unit within a domain.

Comp A needs to be able to access Comp B's shared DIR and it's files.

No problem about that. Share your folders and give EVERYONE the permissions you need.

Also, you do know that an XP Home cannot be a part of a domain, right?

Yes.. I knew that. But I could not seem to get the dir to be viewable by the workgroup computer.

Too bad it requires an "everyone" permission. BUt owell.

      Thanks.. I appreciate it.

I have a question about persistent shares on XP Home too.. I'll ask in another topic.

Actually, technically speaking, XP can be part of domain, but this is way out of the forum's scope...
