    hi2all
    actually when i go dos prompt entering CMD in run windows,it goes like as "d:\documents and setting\administrator>" but i want that when go to DOS prompt,it goes my specified prompt like as " F:\ali>".how can i do this?

    that drive and directory you specified is your "home path" in the paths.

    you need to change your paths so yur home path is your directory (been ages since I did this, I need to go look up specifically how it's done again), but maybe make abatch file that runs command and then changes the directory t your favourite?

      Ali, type SET in a CMD window and see what your %HOMEPATH% is.

      Next, go to My Computer, Advanced, Env. Variables, and type a new path for HOMEPATH, for example d:\.

      You could also create a shortcut for CMD.EXE, and it the shortcut's properties sype the start folder:
