  • Windows FTP - Passive mode as default

    Hello,

I have a warehouse and accounting application that produces xml files instead of paper invoices and is trying to ftp these files to a folder on a client elsewhere on our network.

The application sits on a unix machine (Red Hat) and the folder to which the files need to be put is on a windows (XP) machine.

It would appear to me that Linux uses FTP in passive mode as its default, and windows XP FTP Service is run in Active mode in its default state. I need to change one or the other of these so they both launch and run in the same state.

    Can anyone assist me?

Consider 3rd party FTP server software on the XP box -- there are plenty of freeware/shareware solutions out there.
