    Can you please remind me the lookout order for the windows login

    who is first and last
    WINS , DNS ,HOST ....

    It's always the simple things you forget.

    I believe it's the Host file, then DNS. If DNS fails then it falls back to WINS.

      Technically it looks in the DNS and NetBIOS name caches first.

        Actually, from your info, Tzvika, one cannot give you the exact answer. To which resource are you trying to get access? The logon process itself? Or a network resource? And if it's the logon process, is it to a domain?
