  • Very slow network speed

    Hi,

I've just discovered that among my 3 computers at home, none uses the full network speed.

i mean all should be 100 TX full duplex compatible and in fact, they act more like a 5 Mb TX compatible.

I setup the 2 PCs to 100 half duplex and in the best case, network speed is cca 7 Mb/s, so less than 1 MB/s where it should be around 10-12 MB/s.

I've checked my notebook and its wireless connection. I did not see any duplex setting, so i can not do anything.... but speed between 1 PC and the notebook is cca 2000 kB/s or cca 16.000 kb/s.

i use also a Vigor 2600 VGST (ADSL, router, ....)

where could be located the problem and how to diagnose it ?

    thanks a lot,

    RAF

How are you testing the speed?

It could be setting in your router. Check your router and disable auto duplex and speed settings. Best thing you can do is select full duplex and 100 Mbps speed on your router and Lan card. Some times auto configuration does not work as expected.
