  • Remotely change administrator passwrod in XP

    Hi,
    I need to know if it is possible to change the administrator password on XP PCs across a network.

    The change needs to be impelemented as an update. So that one update package released on the network can change the password on each XP PC, when the upadte is applied.

    Thanks

    Murtaza

    You can use the NET USER ADMINISTRATOR 123456 command. Put it in a batch file and distribute it.

      Or you can script it...

      strComputer = "RemoteComputerName"
      Set objUser = GetObject("WinNT://" & strComputer & "/Administrator, user")
      objUser.SetPassword "newpassword"
      objUser.SetInfo

        Thanks for your replies. I'll pass this over to our dev guys to create the scripts and test.
