what happened was, I lost part of my i386 file, in my xp Pro computer, by cut and paste instead of copy and paste to my usb stick. Now the file has been deleted. But, I do have a restore disc for xp home that I could get the file from and then put it back on the xp pro system.

There is no i386 file. The is an i386 folder and no, you can not use the XP Home version on XP Pro or the XP Pro version on XP Home.
