  • Windows XP Pro licensing

As I'm new to the whole Microsoft licensing thing I'm not clear about how that works in regard to multiple installations. At present I have five computers, with each running one VM (guests and hosts are all Windows XP Home) and I would like to add an additional VM to each using another version, specifically Windows XP Pro. My question is: Can I install Windows XP Pro on more than one computer or will it be assigned to just the one I purchase it for? Thanks.

1 XP Pro license = 1 XP Pro installation

If you have 1 XP host with 3 XP VM's then you gonna need 4 XP licenses.

If this is for training or evaluation purposes you might wanna look into the 180 day license versions or even maybe Technet Plus or MS Action Pack

    Hope this helps
