  • Unable to run XP Recovery Console on Dynamic disk

    Hi All,
I'm getting a STOP error (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/297185). A little diagnostics shows the drive is not happy SMART wise, but it DOES get a fair way through the boot.

I'd like to try some things via the recovery console, but I can't access the damn thing. When I try to boot off the CD, it acts as though there is no existing installation. There is no ASR FDD. And none of the recovery tools seems to recognise the disk from a logical perspective. Seemingly because it is dynamic.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks for reading,
    Jason
