  • Duplicate Domain Membership Across Multiple Windows Instances

One of my engineers has a box with a bunch of partitions on it. They use it for Labview development, and there are some issues with the data acquisition cards they use that required them to have multiple boot partitions with the same OS but different device driver settings, LabView versions, etc.

All of these partitions started out as clones of the original boot partition, all have the same computer name, joined to the same domain with the same computer account.

You can see where this is going...

There's a new domain, and the old domain needs to get retired. Is there a way to re-create this setup in the new domain (same computer name, SID, computer account, and domain membership)? The alternative would be to boot in each partition, change the computer name, reboot, and then join the domain with the new name, and reboot. Seems tedious when we're talking I think 8 partitions.

    Interesting setup.

How do you handle the computer account password change? Or have you not had it for longer than (default) 30 days?
