  • need a script for My Documents Redirection

hello everyone, i am trying to redirect my documents on a mapped n drive on the file server. I am doing this through active directory. For some reason it doesn't work all the time. I am wondering if there is a script that i can run separately to do redirect the folder?

    thanks for help in advance

When it is working properly, start Regedit and export this key:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Explorer/User Shell Folders/Personal

In your logon script you would include:
    regedit /s name_of_saved_key_file.reg

IMHO, instead of trying to do it another way you should rather get group policy working properly.

-Run gpresults or RSoP in logging mode
-Make sure all the proper NTFS and Share permissions are set
-If you're redirecting to a mapped drive (not a requirement btw) make sure the drive is properly mapped
      -etc.

First of all thanks for replying back.. I am going to try both the recommendations as soon as i get some breathing space. Just curious though, is there a script if i wanted to do it that way?
