  • uninstall dual boot

    Hi there.

I have two xp pro on one laptop each one on different partition.
I need to uninstall one of them.
Is there any way to logon to the one that I want to uninstall and uninstall it ?
Or the only way is just log on to the one that I want to keep and just delete os folders.
If that, what will happen to mbr ?
    Thanks in advance.

There's no way to "uninstall" the unwanted OS that would be automatic but it can be done manually.

Since its on a seperate partition edit the boot.ini to remove the one you no longer want then delete the partition. It shouldn't do anything to the MBR but if it does boot to the cd and load the recovery console and type FIXBOOT/FIXMBR to repair it.

      Hi,

THere is a programme called 'KILLDISK' from www.killdisk.com
that could wipe out completely that side of the XP U DO NOT WANT TO USE.
But be careful, read the programme instructions carefully. You may need to fdisk the disk

      REgards.
