    OS is xp pro.The program is for brother scan copy print (the normal program running is that for os xp) suddenly a program Brmf.exe for brother under os win 2000 is starting up(info from task manager) this program is in \windows\system32\Brmf.exe I have treid to delete the program in system32 ,and in the registry,and olso used a program Dr.Delete,and i have uncheck xp restore,but the program always came back.I found the settings in services.msc for the program and have now disable the program here.How to delete the program and how to remove it from services.msc :Regards oldi

    Hi Oldi,

    what happens is that these exe files are set to start up automatically, then when you try and delete them from System32 folder, you get Access is Denied.

    I would check the HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run folder in the registry. To get to the registry, go to Start, Run, type Regedit.

    Once you delete from there, reboot, then try and delete it from System32.

    This file sounds like it's spyware, so you can also run Ad-aware or another spyware program.
