  • XP.Pro:Prevent.Desktop.Shortcut.Creation.of.Windows.Media

OS : Windows XP Pro with SP2.

Goal : Prevent desktop shortcut creation of windows media player.

I ran gpedit.msc to set local policy and under computer configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Media Player > Prevent Desktop Shortcut Creation : ENABLED.

After that i make some more changes on the desktop and copy that users profile to Default User.

I created some more accounts ...everyone logs in and use default user profile...There's no Windows Media Short cut on their desktop.

Now I want to save the computer image so I run sysprep. After I run sysprep, the computer reboots and I see that Windows Media Player is on the desktop . And it's on the desktop of every users, too.

Please tell me how to stop it. Thanks.
