  • msconfig & helpctr on run

When I am going to Help and Support on the Main Menu I am getting an error that Windows cannot find "helpctr.exe". Then it asked me to search for this file which I did find. But when I am clicking on those files nothing happened. Same thing with "msconfig" I am getting the same message but after the search when I do click on it it's working fine.
I am using Windows XP PRO with SP2 Final Version.

Error message "Windows cannot open Help and Support because a system service is not running. To fix this problem Start service named Help and Support"
When accessing Help and Support from the start menu and from helpctr.exe in the Windows folder I get this same error message. A vicious circle if ever I saw one.

Have you checked the Services applet and made sure that the Help and Support service has the Statup Type set to Automatic?

Post the whole of the Event Viewer entry. Screen shot would be good.
