  • Can XP Home join a domain?

Yes, I know the official answer is a resounding NO, but I wonder if there is any way around it (like some of the hidden control panels).

I have a client with 4 XP home PCs wanting to set up SBS and to keep costs down to a minimum, so I thought I'd ask before speccing upgrades.

    thanks in advance

Also older versions of MS's Powertoys for XP (TweakUI) allowed XP Home to join a domain as well. It was subsequently removed from MS's website while they "fixed" the problem so to speak. You can probably still find it floating around the Internet however.

I still have the older version if you want it.

Thanks for your replies, Dumber and ahinson -- I knew there was a way but I wasnt sure what it was.

        I'll investigate further.

ahinson, could you please mail me the version of TweakUI you mentioned -- [email protected] (edit address manually!)

        thanks
