  • Problems with my XP Pro installation cd

Hi, I am currently trying to reinstall WinXP Pro (Norwegian) on my laptop. It came originally with two recovery cd's, but they are not working any more.
I have tried to install with an image downloaded from dc++ and burned to cd, but it won't work. I have also changed the PID in SETUPP.INI as you have written about here: http://www.petri.com/use_oem_version_to_upgrade_xp.htm

No matter what I do it always says that the key entered is not valid...

    Any ideas?

My computer is a Toshiba Satellite Pro M10, with a WinXP Pro license from Toshiba...

The license you have is tied to the Toshiba recovery CDs (and maybe even the Toshiba BIOS) so you will need to get new CDs as Dumber suggested.

The CD you downloaded is an illegal copy.

        thanx

Thank you guys, its in the mail from toshiba.

But it would be nice to be able to install winxp without the recovery cd's, I wan't a clean install, not a toshiba-install....

But anyways, thank you for the help. If anyone knows more about the PID-solution for creating a decent win xp toshiba installation cd I would be very glad to receive suggestions about the problem..
