  • login error

    Hi i am having a problem login into my system. I gives me an error saying that I can't login because the computer name has changed, but I haven't changed the computer name.

    Any sudgestions

    Could you post the EXACT wording of the error? Could you also tell us exactly what you did? (something like "I powered up the computer. When it got to the logon screen I entered my username in..." etc)

      Ok so I got the blue screen of death so I have to repair my copy of windows. Once I repaired my copy of windows I rebooted my computer and got to the login screen. When I tryed to login it gives me an error saying cannot not login to that computer name "editing" that was what I named my computer for networking purposes.

        Ah, some background information.
        Could you post the EXACT wording of the error?

        Also check out this KB article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555375
        It might help in troubleshooting the issue.

          Can you boot in Save Mode (-NO network!),
          and then login as the local Administrator?

          Then check its current Computername via the System Properties.
