  • No permissions to run RUNDLL32.EXE

    Hi,

I've just reinstalled XP on my home PC, and added SP1 and the other necessary patches. However, when I try to run the control panel, I get an error message informing me that either I don't have the necessary permissions to run the file, or windows can't find it. The file is there, however, and appears to be the same as the one in the dll cache. I ran CACLS and that seems to have the correct rights. I have admin access on my login, and have also tried running control panel as the Administrator, but that makes no difference. Does anyone have any ideas? Is my installation broken? Should I re-install?

    Thanks for your help.
