    my brain is broken for the rest of the day now, and when i google it, i get loads of locking software* can you tell me how to do it quickly?

    Mod Please move to XP/2000 forum.

    As for you question just have a screen saver configured and check the box that says Password Protected or On resume, password protect depending on your OS.
